My uber-talented friend Lauren just launched her very first Etsy shop dedicated to all things sparkly, metallic and celebratory. She showed me a few samples yesterday and.....gahhhhh. I'm obsessed. I mean, there's a gilded chubby penguin and a cow with sparkly udders in the collection. Enough said.
You can get your fill of cool place card holders, table numbers, and tassel garlands at The Festive Fox on Etsy, and be sure to mosey on over to her brand spankin' new blog. It's just as awesome as Lauren is....which is pretty dang awesome. You go girl!

When I came across the In Haus Press shop on Etsy, I was convinced they were located in the good ol' ATX...but NOPE! West coasters all the way, and HQ'd in one of my most favorite cities in the entire world, San Francisco. These hand-fed letterpress connoisseurs make all sorts of paper goodies that are feature a mix of original hand-drawn
typography and historic wood type with a rustic, vintage vibe that I really dig. I wholeheartedly approve...and also really want those coasters.

Heyyy-o, I'm supah dupah excited to introduce y'all to estieMade, a lovely new July sponsor of this here blog. That would be Dallas, if you didn't catch on.
I had the pleasure of meeting Esther, the creator of these fine goods, at Renegade Craft Fair here in Austin. I'll tell you, I was drawn to her booth like a moth to the flame. The pretty lured me in, and well....I kinda stuck around for a while, chatting it up with this inspiring and awesome lady. If you'd like to see what Esther is up to when she's not making gorgeous jewelry, check her out on her incredibly cute blog wholly Kao. If you know me, I love a good pun..so that was an instant like/love/follow. You can also stalk her on Facebook...I'm pretty sure she won't mind.

Renegade Craft Fair came and conquered Austin, with hundreds of indie-craft artists flooding the Palmer Events center this past weekend. I've spotted some of these artisans on Etsy, and was so excited to meet a few of these talented ladies and gents...I practically bee-lined it to Son of a Sailor to chat with the lovely Jessica! I then got to talking to the incredibly awesome Sara from Fail Jewelry, followed by obsessing over the rad scarves and prints by Little Minnow Designs. Who am I kidding? I was obsessing over nearly every booth there....the art, the jewelry, the clothes, the home decor. After walking around for a few hours with my mouth agape in awe of all the talent that was contained in that room (and buying that hilarious card pictured by Squeeze My Hand), John and I called it a day and headed over to Sno-Beach to gorge ourselves on lemon-lime snow cones. That place reminds me of humid summers spent at the zoo in Chicago when I was a kid - there was a snow cone stand near where the seals were, and I would always beg my mom to get me one! But, I digress. In sum, Renegade was awesome and I'm already looking forward to next year's show!

Jonna Saarinen is a lover of VW Campers and foxes.
I am most definitely a lover of her textiles, trays, and tea towels.
Her use of bright color and abstract shapes are out of this world awesome.
I would love to see one of those trays holding all the goodies on my desk (have to attempt to maintain the chaos somehow).
Isn't Jonna's line simply stunning?!

Handmade in France, I am just smitten with the bold colors and certain cool factor the tea towels, prints, and notebooks from Oelwein posses.

{illustrations from spun sugar paperie // french quarter maison sofa // pink hummingbird porcelain table ware // tom dixon pipe light pendant in white/pink // 13" round beaded cake stand // jennifer paganelli st. croix pink embroidered pillow // interior image via stacy garcia}
After coming across a pendant light that looks exactly like Mike & Ikes, I have got sugar on the brain today. Perhaps it is the fact that I am trying (in earnest) to eat healthier, but the cotton candy and bubblegum pink decor, milk chocolate colored upholstery, and prints paying homage to the artistry of pastry are calling my name. Oh, and what would you do if I told you I discovered a no-calorie macaron? You'd have to see it to believe it? Well, feast your eyes on the delectable guilt-free watercolor treats from our latest sponsor, Spun Sugar Paperie. This shop is chock full of gorgeously illustrated and painted french pastries and other girly delights. Fancy a custom print? No problem....Laura can whip that up for you in no time. Your walls and waistband will both thank you.

I will be the first to admit that I can be a total spaz. For example, I am really in my spaz prime when I score a great new thrift find (*cough* $10 silk Escada skirt *cough*), when I watch irritating but addicting reality TV (The Bachelor, anyone?), and when I discover shops where I literally am sent into a tizzy because I get so excited about what I am seeing. That latest Etsy shop to send me into orbit is Maddox & Klaus, a glitzy urban tribal collection of handmade jewelry. Naturally, I am beyond thrilled to welcome them as a March sponsor. Not only was I stoked about the seemingly made-for-me designs, but the price people!!! Everything is UNDER $30.....WHAT?! Hoarder Kirsten coming through! Don't mind me, I'll take the entire collection. But you want to know something super exciting? One of you will be winning that lovely beaded peace sign necklace featured above!

When you first heard me sing the praises of Bark Decor, I was in a "this shop is so cool, my head might explode" awesome design flurry. Well, now I am writing about Sara's fantastic wares with an exploding head and heart because 1.) the 2012 collection is killer, 2.) they are sponsoring this little blog of mine this month, and 3.) I am seriously smitten with everything! From the sweet briolette drop earrings to the artsy illustrated ram pillows and back to the wish-listed slouchy tees screen-printed with a rad owl and caribou, I just love the indie-meets-modern vibe that the collection perfectly captures. Oh, and did I mention that everything is totally and completely affordable? Did I also mention that Triple Max Tons readers can also get 10% off their purchase with the code BLOGLOVE? Aaaand that's your cue to shop til you drop....vamonos, amigos!

After one of the mushiest and smushiest holidays there is, I decided to post about something tough and strong. Noooo, sillies, I am not talking about my husband....though he should consider himself flattered at the thought. I am talking about concrete. Yep. The tough grey stuff that we pound our well-heeled feet on everyday. Not so glam outside, but bring the matter indoors and you have a very different story. Concrete is beautiful in it's simplicity, the tone and texture varying from piece to piece. Perhaps it's because my dad is in the industrial and commerical flooring biz and I grew up hearing about the differences between DecoFlake and ThermalCrete floors. I will refrain from getting into the details for fear of boring you half to death, but I will summarize the moral of the story: concrete = cool. So, now it's time to revel in the cool concrete home decor finds from Obelisk with me.

Well I now have a beaaaaaaaaaaautiful DIY headboard adorning my bed, and am making good on my resolution to get our apartment looking a little more 'done' on a dime. I am currently in the market for some cute accent pillows, and came across these handmade beauties from Three Sheets 2 The Wind. This small textile design studio - owned by Jenny Sauer, a former fashion designer - features hand drawn illustrations all reflect a vintage vibe heavily influenced by the skeletal structure of plant life. One of my favorite facts about this operation is that there are no computers involved in the manufacturing process. Yep, you read that right...it's all hand drawn, hand printed, and sewn in her 1,200 sq ft studio space. Plus, she's got some super awesome prints in the shop that I am crushing on!

Thief&Bandit is the brainchild of Amie Cunningham, a woodcarver, designer, and artist
by way of Canada and now living and working in Richmond, VA. The Thief&Bandit Etsy shop is chock full of original jewelry, accessories, and clothing which all happen to be handmade from hand-printed fabrics. A task that is sure to keep Amie busy for years to come...and thankfully so. Aren't her wares awesome?!

Today's post is dedicated to the mighty Christmas tree because *sniffle* the husband and I won't be having one this year. With all the traveling we are doing, it just doesn't really make sense to put one up...which is slightly devastating. Decorating the Christmas tree was one of my favorite traditions as a kid, pulling out all the ornaments from years past and carefully placing them on each branch. It's funny too, because my tastes have totally changed when it comes to styling the tree. As a kid, I was all about colored lights, the brightest and biggest ornaments, and zillions of presents under the tree. Nowadays, I have gotten a little more monochromatic when it comes to decorating....lots of white, silver, and metallic ornaments and decor. What's your holiday decor style?
