Inspiration For My Office Redo

10:30 AM

Hey y'all. As you can tell, I've been a bit MIA lately on the ol' blog. The speed of life seemed to turn into the speed of light for a bit, and I have been feeling a tad bit overwhelmed. I always thought I would be the gal who could have my cake and eat it too, but it's proving difficult to juggle my pr job by day, creative job by night, blogging, the adventures of new home ownership, and that little list of errands that never seems to get shorter. NOT complaining - they are all the kinds of 'problems' that I actually love having - but man, need more hours in the day!  The truth is I miss blogging, I miss talking to y'all, and it was a major bummer that I was feeling a little uninspired and exhausted at the end of the day. This post is dedicated to Melissa, a rad reader of TMT that sent me a sweet note that got me all jazzed up to get back on the bloggin' bandwagon.

So....figured I'd share a little project that I have been brainstorming about since we were handed the keys to our new place. I finally have a dedicated room that I get to call my "creative space" - a den where pitching, crafting, designing, photography, and the like goes down on a daily basis. You'd probably laugh if I showed you a pic of what it looks like now....incredibly sparse, bland and certainly NOT blog worthy, I kinda cringe every time I go in there. First step is getting rid of the popcorn ceiling and slapping a decent paint color on the walls - though the current oatmeal color is much less offensive than the "baby shit brown" (as my Dad sweetly called it) on the walls in the bathrooms and living room.  I'm thinking a dark and sophisticated navy blue, with lots of white furniture and hot pink pops throughout the room. Some of the items pictured I definitely plan on snapping up, others I can't afford so.....let the compulsive Craigslist search begin!
